The project is for a rectangular building 25 metres high with 17,000 square metres of floor space and two underground floors, fitting in naturally with the landscape in Montjuïc and preserving the prominence of the Palau Sant Jordi within the Olympic complex.

Through an investment of 70 million euros, the new Sant Jordi Club will be an open and transparent facility that engages directly with the mountain and the city, conceived to elevate the experience of artists, promotors and audiences, with its capacity increased to 9,000.

The project was chosen in an international architecture competition launched by BSM, which will offer quality artistic experiences in a flexible space prepared for ever more complex cultural productions.

The excellence of the acoustic quality and accessibility are key elements, given that the project puts people at the centre and conceives the Anella Olímpica as a space for experiencing events from start to finish: before, during and after concerts.

Sustainability also runs through the whole project: it incorporates renewable energy production with solar panelling, aerothermal air-conditioning, rainwater recovery, the use of recycled low-carbon materials and circular economy criteria during the work.
