Keys handed over to 19 homes with affordable rents in C/ Robador, in El Raval
Located in the district of Ciutat Vella, the building has been completely revamped to adapt it to residential use and offers 19 homes with affordable rents. The flats have been given to families on the Barcelona Register of Officially Protected Housing, who will pay a monthly rent of between 311,58 and 326,14 euros according to the floor space of their home.
The homes awarded respond to the usual reserve criteria for public developments: five homes for local residents, six for the under-35s and the rest, in this case eight, on a general basis. One of the flats will also be for a local woman who was living in the block and had the right to return once the work was completed.
The block has been completely renovated to change the distribution and the façades have been restored. All installations, rooftops, wooden elements and finishes have been renewed, applying criteria on energy efficiency, accessibility and liveability.
Work has also been carried out to improve the accessibility of the building, including the installation of a lift, while keeping the two existing staircases. Inside the flats, new divisions have been created and low ceilings have been installed using plasterboard panels.
